In the human experience, few emotions are more debilitating than shame. Maybe it’s the voice in your head beating you down at every turn. Maybe you find yourself stuck in past mistakes, or overwhelmed by everything that could go wrong in the future. Maybe experience has taught you to find yourself less-than in worth, relationship, and ability. When dealing with this kind of pain, vulnerability becomes unbelievably challenging, but incredibly healing.
Your struggle exists in a larger context we will explore through goal setting, building self awareness, and developing practical tools for change. Understanding the impacts of shame and practicing self compassion are key in this process. Many techniques will stem from Cognitive Behavioral theory along with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
